Although I have finished my work term at Axis Insurance, I am thrilled to share that I have been offered the opportunity to continue my employment after graduation, extending my role as a Commercial Lines Assistant. This is both a validation of my efforts during the term and an exciting step forward in my professional journey. Reflecting on my experience, I’ve realized just how much I’ve learned and grown in a relatively short time.

One of the most important lessons I’ve taken away is that you can learn anything you set your mind to if you have the support of a strong team. Coming into this role with less than a year of insurance experience, I initially felt inexperienced compared to my more seasoned coworkers. However, I trusted in my ability to learn quickly—something I honed as a student—and leaned on my team for guidance when needed. Their support helped me bridge the gap in industry-specific knowledge, and I quickly found my footing. This experience reminded me that even if you lack direct experience, transferable skills and a willingness to adapt can make all the difference.

One accomplishment I’m particularly proud of is completing three major projects while remaining a consistent contributor to daily tasks. Jumping from training modules to handling a fast-paced workload felt daunting at first, but I soon learned how to balance long-term projects with immediate responsibilities. This included managing renewals for 100+ accounts, processing certificates, and staying on top of urgent emails. By the end of my term, I had developed strong task management skills that allowed me to handle both project and account priorities effectively.
