Why Should YOU Choose Vietnam?

Hanoi

Ha Long Bay

Hoi An

Saigon

H A N O I

You haven't truly been to Vietnam if you haven't experienced Hanoi traffic. At times it seems like people honk more they can breathe, and that there has to be more motorbikes than people. Besides the noisy vehicles, I found Hanoi to have the best street food such as Northern style Pho, and Bahn Mi. The best place in the Old Quarter is Bahn Mi 25. It's the perfect amount of western sandwich needs, with traditional BBQ pork and fresh Vietnamese veggies.

HA LONG BAY

A UNESCO heritage site that does not disappoint. Booking either a day trip, or overnight trip will have you experiencing the limestone mountains and clear baby-blue waters. Once at Ha Long City you will be bombarded with tour offers so have an itinerary with some things you'd like to see/do. The tour I booked was with my hotel - an overnight cruise that included every meal, kayaking, mountain hike, private beach, squid fishing, cooking class, tai chi class, and stunning views. The total for this was $120USD but after costing in the beers, taxes and extras came to about $150USD. If you'd like to book the same overnight tour send me an email and I provide the contact info of the tour operator. To summarize, the hype is worth it. There is something unique about this beautiful bay that will leave your Instagram feed jelly af.

ALTERNATIVE - If boats aren't your thing, the same limestone mountains can be found in Ninh Binh, a city not too far from Hanoi, and Ha Long Bay.

hoi an

The traditional city of Vietnam. Things feel different here. After being to both Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) & Hanoi I can tell you this major city is different from it's two alternatives. Lanterns, Tailored Suites, and Beaches. The street food is also unreal, dishes like white rose dumplings, Cao Lao (noodle salad), and cheap Banh Mi, the city has a little bit of everything. Neighboring one hour from here is Da Nang - another beach city with large buildings that will make you feel like a Vietnamese Miami. Rent a bike to the top of monkey mountain for a peak at how the city looks from above.

Saigon

Last but not least is Saigon. Everyone will tell you district 1 is the best, however I am here to disagree. I was burnt out of the loud walking street and chaotic vibes that district 1 brought - nothing like Hanoi chaos, that I loved. Take a motorbike trip 15 minutes to Cholon in district 5, here you find large markets and very tasty dim sum. Alternatively district 2 offered the best local market I had seen in Vietnam, with western clothing quality at low cost. Overall a great city to visit if you do the research to see what the different districts offer.

the best vietnam travel route (2022)

There are plenty of travel routes in Vietnam, so why is this one the best? In short, because it takes you everywhere you NEED to go, and SKIPS everything you don't. Of course, this is my opinion and yours may be different so take it with a grain of salt.

The biggest decision of any travel route is obviously - where to start

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, retaining the key qualities of busy streets, epic street food, and a large international airport known as Noi Bai International Airport (HAN).
